Live Music for Your Elopement

Your song, surrounded by mountains

By Elias Choi-Buttinger

Music for just the two of you

A private ceremony can be reason enough to bring a musician. Your elopement can include a few carefully chosen pieces, with time simply to listen together.

Listen for the sound you love

A voice, a string melody or a deeper, rhythmic sound will each create a different atmosphere. Start with the performers’ recordings and choose a style you both enjoy.

Your song, thoughtfully arranged

Have a particular song in mind? Share the version you love early. We’ll ask the musician whether it suits their instrument and repertoire, and confirm any preparation time or extra arranging cost.

Room for your vows

A song for your arrival, a pause after your vows, or a first dance: we’ll choose the moments together. Silence has a place, too. Your words can be heard without music underneath.

You don’t need a finished plan.

A date or season, a rough location and a few tracks you love are enough to start.
If you’re unsure what to choose, tell me how you’d like the ceremony to feel.

A place the musician can reach.

A mountain path changes what someone can carry. We’ll consider the route, instrument, setup space and time needed to get there. Some locations suit a solo performer; others make room for a larger ensemble.

Sound that suits the setting.

Unplugged music may suit a small, quiet gathering. Wind, rushing water or more guests can change what you hear. We’ll check whether amplification is needed, how it can be powered and what your location allows.

A plan for changing weather.

Rain, cold and direct sun can affect instruments as well as people. Before booking, we’ll discuss a sheltered alternative or an adjusted plan with the musician, including how weather-related changes would be handled.

The music you hear. The film you keep.

Your live performance, woven into your film

If you choose my wedding film coverage, we can include music recorded during your celebration. My experience filming musicians helps me bring the performance and images together, so you return to the sound you actually shared that day.

Planned before the first note

We’ll discuss which moments to record, the sound setup and permission to use the music and performance before the day. That makes the recording part of the plan from the start, with the musicians involved.

Meet the musicians

Meet some of the musicians from my personal network. There are more possibilities beyond the people featured here: tell me the sound you have in mind, and we’ll explore who could suit your celebration, location and date.

Mathias Roller · Cello & Infiammabile

Mathias and I met through our time at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz. Since then, we’ve collaborated on dance, music and film projects—including our award-winning film shot in Iceland. For a shoot near the Hochkönig, we brought his cello into the mountain landscape already.

He’s a warm, calm and kind person whom I love working with. If you’d like cello for your ceremony, we can explore a solo booking. For a fuller sound, his award-winning early-music ensemble Infiammabile brings together voice, flute, Baroque guitar or theorbo, and Baroque cello. I know the other members personally, too.

Mathias loves hiking in the mountains, so a more remote setting with a walk of around an hour to an hour and a half may also be possible, once we’ve agreed on the route, weather and transport of his instrument. We’ll discuss your musical ideas and confirm the line-up, availability and what works at your location. Solo and ensemble performances are quoted individually and booked separately from photography.

Gregor De Lorenzo · Didgeridoo

I’ve known Gregor for almost 30 years. I love his relaxed, natural presence and the sense of groundedness he brings. We worked together on a personal, alternative wedding ceremony near Tre Cime in the Dolomites—an intimate mountain experience shaped around the couple. From the afternoon light into sunset, Gregor’s music and Johanna’s ceremony brought the experience together beautifully.

His connection with the didgeridoo began on a trip to Australia in 1994. Encounters with Aboriginal musicians and other artists helped shape his playing, and he now also builds didgeridoos from local woods. With didgeridoo, shruti box and drums, he offers a musical direction for couples drawn to a personal, nature-connected ceremony.

Johanna (his wife) leads personal handfasting ceremonies, where a cord around your hands gives your promise a visible form. If that speaks to you, we can explore her ceremony guidance alongside Gregor’s music. You choose the elements that feel right for you.

Music and ceremony guidance are arranged around your wishes, location and availability. Both are quoted separately and are additional to your photography package.

Beda mit Palme · Vocals, guitar & accordion

Beda and I have worked on several music videos together, with me taking care of filming and editing. One of them took us to Traunsee, surrounded by Austria’s mountains. I love his relaxed and original humour and how easy he is to work with.

With vocals, guitar and accordion, he brings plenty of musical variety—from Austrian sounds to his own Austro-reggae songs, to more traditional wedding accompaniment. He can also use a loop station to build musical layers live, giving a solo performance a fuller sound.

He has played at many weddings, too. If you’d like a personal performance with an easygoing atmosphere, we can explore what feels right for you. We’ll confirm repertoire, instruments, equipment and availability before booking; the musical performance is quoted separately from photography.
